leaking commode

HEH, not an uncommon problem i'm assuming though one that is frustrating none the less. we have a marine style commode in the bathroom which is seemingly totally enclosed. however, from somewhere within the "bowels" of this unit, and no pun intended there, water is definitely going where it shouldn't be, all over my floors! now, how the heck do i get this thing apart? the water inlet goes inside the unit in the back, there are no outside water shut off valves like on a regular commode. this thing is frustrating and i hope someone out there can put an end to my hair pulling on this rather stumping problem! HELP!
