Rough Stone Fireplace

Posted by Stephen Gaudin on April 13th, 2004 01:44 AM

I have a rough stone fireplace in my dining area, I didn't put it there and would prefer a granite or tile fireplace but cost is majorly prohibitive. What I'm looking for is perhaps some sort of clear coat to make it look darker and wet to give it a bit more classy look. This fireplace sits adjascent to my new kitchen which has granite counter tops, so it appears very rough and out of place somewhat in comparison. I don't want to paint it a color or cover it, but a stain or polyurathane finish would be ok. I just don't want something that will peel or bubble and crack and look horrible in 2 years.
