blower for compost tea brewer Posted by Barbara on April 14th, 2004 02:38 AM
This isn't a fix-it question, but a DIY one. I'd like to build a compost tea brewer in which air is bubbled briskly through compost and water, but haven't had any luck coming up with the right kind of air pump or motor to run it. The ones I've seen have what's called a "regenerative blower." It's a pretty cheap impeller type that blows about as much air as a hairdryer. Googling brings up lots of ex$pensive blowers. I need about a 1/2 horse motor for a 55 gallon drum. Any ideas for a good scavenger? Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
