In April 1999, I built two decks using "Choicedeck". It is a cedar/recycled plastic mix with a slightly rough surface to give better traction and reduce slips. The material cuts great and is easy to work with. It has weathered very well, considering that we are 100' from the Atlantic ocean here in Maine.
It worked so well that when I replaced an older deck in front of my house last year, we used the same material for the decking as well as the railings.
Home Depot sells special screws that work well with this material.
