Tung oil is almost all nothing but mineral spirits. Mineral spirits is a solvent of sorts for poly so putting on a coat of something that is going to just sit on the surface after it evaporates is not a good idea. A better way is to lightly rub the poly surface with 0000 steel wool or a very fine 3M Scotch-Brite pad and then apply a coat of Johnson's Wax or any other good quality paste wax. That will get any dust bumps or raised grain that may be coming thru the surface and add a nice shine and protection with the wax.

In addition to the book "Understanding Wood Finishing", by Bob Flexner, his articles in Popular Woodworking magazine go into more detail on this. Your library should have the book and may have the magazine.
