aluminum wiring Posted by Joe Danner / Danner Electric on March 20th, 2000 09:57 PM In reply to Aluminum wiring by Bob Thompson on June 30th, 1999 09:44 AM [Go to top of thread]
An anti-oxidizing compound is a must on aluminum wiring connections, especially feeder runs, and main panel service entrance conductors. Also regarding electrical devices, other outlets I have found to be a significant problem with aluminum wiring connections, are other heavy use outlets in kitchens and bathrooms. these outlets experience significant usage on a daily basis. Aluminum wiring connectors (wirenuts ), are great to use, but extremely expensive to purchase,so be prepared, take out a second mortgage on your home to purchase many of these babies!
