My father-in-law used tung oil on his deck last summer. It did not dry well. After some time all the wood started turning black, almost like a mold. A few months later it looked so terrible that he painted over the tung oil with a heavy duty oil base paint. He is still not happy with the results. He will never use tung oil again, at least that what he told me. I thought his deck looked really terrible with the tung oil.
maybe he did something wrong with the application of the oil.
