The PolyShades has the color and oil finish mixed.......Depending on the "rubbing" .......the steel wool would scratch/remove some of the color/stain from the piece........Is there still enough color on the piece....You can reapply additional PolyShade...
I see most Tung oil available as a wipe-on "tung oil finish"....a tung oil and poly mix........And the "oil-finish" will work over the PolyShade.......I like to apply it with a green scrubee............produces a soft hand-rubbed finish
