In reply to New Concrete Stamp Patio by Mike on April 18th, 2004 05:09 AM [Go to top of thread]

I feel for ya...thats terrible. I`d take him to court..take pics of patio and have other concrete companies come out and give you new estimates and have them write on the estimate why the patio is screwed up and why the contractor who did the work shouldnt have in December and any other legit reasons. For it to be screwed up so soon IS his fault...period.I know it doesnt help now but always get things in WRITING! I wouldnt do anything(breakout) to the patio until all things are settled and if ya have to go to court the judge may wanna see this for himself/herself. First, any contractor who is legit/license/insured/honest would have automatically wriiten you an estimate because that is the right & respectful thing to do for all homeowners...not a $ figure to do the work on the back of his business card.If there was something wrong with the concrete that was delivered and this contractor is honest and does alot of work he should be able to get whoever del`d the concrete out there to take a look at it and if they deem it was a bad batch then they will pay for new concrete...not the labor! Thats on the contractor who did the work, and he should be fully aware that sometimes these things happen and its part of what being in biz is all about..good days and bad days.Again...it may be fully the contractors fault...I`d take to court asap and get several other opinions on what happened and maybe why it should not have been poured in Dec. GL!
