Frost proof sillcock... REPLACE

The commom misconception with any frost proof hydrant/hose bibb/sillcock is that they will not freeze. Unfortunately in this posters case he left his garden hose attatched, preventing any water to be drained from the exterior. No compression fitting will work because the design of the the unit has a long stem with a washer at the end of the unit. The whole frost proof needs replacing. The only 2 scenariors are: 1/2" copper sweated directly into the end of the unit. 2) c X f ADAPTER. YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE THING..
