Fiberglass door - paint or stain?

I have a fiberglass exterior door that will be facing the sun. I've heard that a stained fiberglass door will need to be refinished every 3-5 years due to sun. Would paint stand up longer? If so, any recommendations on primer and paint type? thanks.
