40 year old wood floors squeak and creak

Posted by Deborah on April 23rd, 2004 09:27 AM

The only think that has happened recently is that my husband put insulation under the house. Could this have dried out the flooring? Other than the squeaking and the creaking, the floors look very nice. We have pergo in the kitchen and the floor is very stable. We have a new addition with hard wood flooring that is very stable. The ceramic tile in the bathrooms likes fine too. It is only the areas with this old flooring. Any tips. Is this just an annoyance or sign of something else?

Thanks for any advice
