1880's Victorian Kansas City, MO, Balloon Framing Rot Repair

Posted by Blake, Kansas City, MO on April 26th, 2004 01:51 AM

Am in the process of purchasing a beautiful 1880’s 3 story balloon frame Victorian home in Kansas City, Missouri. It has been evaluated as having rot on the exterior wall studs that has caused one corner of the home to sink approximately 3 to 4 inches but the foundation appears to be stable. Wondering if any home show or magazine might be interested in taking on the project and share in the costs that have been estimated to be in excess of $15K. The house has an amazing street presence with a glorious three story glass domed tower and would make a great subject for a home show or magazine. If anyone has an interest or knows how I might present the home as a possible project, please contact me at bpoelp@msn.com . Thanks for your help!
