Three Way Switch Wiring

Posted by Sue on April 26th, 2004 11:20 AM

Can someone please give me simple instructions as to how to wire a three way switch? I shall explain the setup: in the metal junction box I have two switches side by side , one is a single pole switch which controls a pantry light; the second is a three way switch which controls an overhead light. Into the top of the box there are two three wire cables,( B,W,R plus ground). The single pole switch has wires not screw terminals, two black and one red.The three way switch has one black screw terminal and two brass screw terminals. Would someone please study this information and please tell me exactly how to hook up the two switches? Your help will be GREATLY appreciated.
