John 200 is right. You may be using too much glue especially if the joints look fine when they're dry-slotted.
Be sure to re-read the directions about glueing. Depending on the brand, one may have to run a bead of glue the full length of the sheet vs. every 4". And, if you're NOT using the recommended glue, that could be a problem too.
