I am aware of the Neptune models mold problem. I have to also report that the Atlantis (top loader) models also can develop mold growth inside the top rim of the wash tub. Both me and my parents have 3 year old washers which produce large amounts of mold odor and require painstaking efforts to clean it out. The mold keeps coming back week after week. Maytag refuses to back up their product and told me that no one else has complained. The more who speak up about this problem, the better chances are for resolution of it.
