To clean any set-in stains from oil, butter, margarine, catsup, mustard or anything else, use Acetone. Make sure you purchase a NEW can of Acetone. Try wiping (hard) first .. and if that doesn't handle it, then soak a paper towel, folded several times and cover the stain. Then cover this poltice with plastic (tape all around the paper towel so the Acetone does not dry out) Leave this in place overnight and the stain will be gone. I went through every imaginable website looking for this answer. BUT IMPORTANT. You MUST SEAL the GRANITE (after you remove all stains and/or when it's installed). So use 511 (your hardware store will know exactly the name). I sealed about four times. Follow directions on the can of sealer. Good Luck and enjoy your Granite. I LOVE mine now!
