It is good to know that I am not alone in experiencing this foul odor that comes from my washer. It appears to be a function of softener use as that is what it smells like; Downy scented sewage! I have used periodically a cup of bleach in each of the soap, bleach, and softener dispensers. That tactic cleans the washer and eliminates the odor. Leaving the door cracked open also helps elminate the odor. This machine is a great performer, but like so many mechanical systems there is maintenance to be done. I look forward to trying the vinegar solution, and comparing the results.
