It's a good idea to take that wire on the cooling terminal (that activates the auxiliary heat) off and put the wire that activates the outside unit cooling relay on instead. Makes the unit run better when the right wires are on the right terminals. The thermostat came with wiring diagrams and the wiring diagrams for the units are on the inside panels of the units. Beyond that, you might even have to identify which make and model you have, for a good start.
