New Sink In Your Future Posted by John Boy on May 2nd, 2004 11:22 AM In reply to Sink repair by Kris on May 2nd, 2004 09:16 AM [Go to top of thread]

Most enamelled steel sinks rust out by the drain, the overflow, and chipping when people drop items in them. If you end up replacing this sink, buy one that is made of vitreous china (you know the same material that your toilet is made of).
If you knew existing model or maker that you have perhaps there is a direct replacement in vitreous china. That way the new model will fit right in to the existing opening. Maybe you could trace out the outline of the exsiting sink on some card board when you go shopping for the new one.
To do a repair on the existing sink? Well the only thing that comes to mind, some plumbing departments may have a small bottle of touch up paint, available in different colors (colours)*.
Or you could use dishwasher touch up paint, found in appliance section of stores. I don't think you will like the repair job, in the long run and
eventually replace the sink anyway. That is my 2 cents.
