Check what the wires inside the fan, It is possible that when installing this fan, the 9 pin connector is not propery put together, it's the small rectangular plastic box with corresponding colors on it. check that's it pushed in all the way, and check that the pull switch is on the 1st setting, which is fastest--- also, try calling the ceiling fan manufacturer 800, that should be in the manual or check with the homedepot store where you purchased the fan
