Microwave fire?

I have never seen a microwave fire before. I saw my clothes dryer, toaster, stove, tea kettle all have fires at different points in time. All different brand names. I don't see why it should heat up after 20 seconds. Is it possible that you covered an airvent in the microwave. The MW has a fan inside. It needs to bring clean air in and blows old air out. If an air vent was blocked this could cause it to heat. If you don't find any recalls on the microwave and not blocking vents (check to see that air is blowing out near the top or rear) then my suggestion would be to toss it out. Microwaves don't cost that much, if it is old, a repair would cost more then the value of the microwave. Check recalls first.
