painting concrete exterior patio flood

I saw it on hgtv not so long ago and I would like to try to do this project. They used masking tape to make the design like flagstones, and then they painted over the tape and when the paint was somewhat dry, they pulled off the masking tape, and it looked like a beautiful flagstone porch. I would like to know what kind of paint was used and how wide was the masking tape, and did they have to use and epoxy sealer after the area was all taped, painted and the masking tape was pulled off? Can you please answer my questions about this project I would like to undertake? Thanks much, Marlene
