I too have this problem and have came up with only one solution besides replacing the entire countertop. Consider replacing a burned area with an inset ceramic tile or piece of butcher block. Burns happen when you put a hot pan on the counter. You can't repair a burn, but putting a built-in trivet in the spot will keep you from burning it more.
