My wife and I just bought a house that is semi attached (duplex). The house is all brick and we would like to remove the drywall going up the stairs on the shared inner wall (not exposed to the outside) to expose what we believe is beautiful red brick underneath. Our questions would be: 1. what is all involved 2. how much soundproofing would be lost 3. is there any easy way to find out what the condition of the brick is before removing all the drywall? Thanks
