Well, there will be some wobble at the high speed, but the first thing to check would be the electric box. Be sure it's one that rated for ceiling fans, they are metal and should be able to hold upto 50 lbs. If you have the right box, check the screws make sure they are tight, the box to the stud, beam or metal ceiling bracket. Be sure the screws in the fan are tight. And the obvious to check are the blades, to check them on the fan without removing them, take a yard or ruler, hold it vertically touching the ceiling right next to the fan. While the fan is off rotate the blades, making sure they each hit the same measurement or spot on the yard stick. That will mean that the bracket that holds the blade is bent. to check the blade off the fan. Remove the blade from the fan and the bracket. Lay them flat one on top of the other. This way you can see very easily if the blades are warpped. If they are you need new blades, if the brackets are bent you need new brackets. Also, if it's on an extension rod, be sure that the ball and downrod assmbly are secure. Good luck Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
