Listen to Jay the Moderator. My son in law is a small engine mechanic and, 9 times out of ten, the problem with starting (especially when the engine sets for a period of time) is bad gas.
I treat my containers of gas with Sta-Bil (anti oxidant) when I fill them, so every gas tank I fill has protection.
