the best way to test for spark is the way jay described.simply because with the plug removed you can see if there is actually a spark developing across the plug. also the cord is very easy to pull with the plug removed and being held in one hand rope on other.with the plug out and getting a spark the next thing is to test for compression.by putting your thumb over the plug hole and pulling the rope.if you have spark and compression and it ran fine before you put it away then most likely it's bad gas.keep us posted as the outcome i'm curious.
