leaky shower

when we use the shower in our bathtub it leaks down to the ceiling on the floor below it

this does not happen when we use the tub portion so i dont think it is the drain we are at a loss as to here to look now any help will be appeciated.

we feel it has to be between the shower head and the turn on faucet but dont know if we are right about that either
