polished limestone floors

Question regarding limestone flooring! I am in the process of installing 450 square feet of polished limestone and was wondering how major the maintenance requirements would entail. I have a choice of using either limestone or travetine and like the limestone better because of the shine, but was wondering what I would have to do to maintain the floor. I was told to apply a sealer every year and a half by wiping the sealer on the floor, but wanted a professional opinion. Thanks
