Rainbow vacuum cleaner

I'm in total agreement with Laura (May 28th, 2003) letter regarding her Rainbow cleaner. Our extended family had the misfortune at one time of purchasing 3 of them in past years, and two are no longer in service. In essence, they're overrated, overpriced, and inefficient. Aside from a (local repair shop) informing me of their inefficiency, the nation's leading consumer magazine doesn't think much of them, either. Unfortunately, I learned this information, after "plopping" down a huge amount of money. This shop (in a Dallas suburb) has been attempting to sell a used model that was traded in by a female customer, after she became totally disgruntled with the unit. With that, she traded it for a machine that would satisfy her needs. He (the store owner)has marked it down several times; however, he can't sell it. My wife and I are in total agreement that we've only been "totally sucked" by two separate large purchases ("lemons") during our 30-year marriage, and one of those purchases was a Rainbow vacuum cleaner!!
