buildng a deck around a cement stoop

Hi
I want to build a deck, but I have a cement stoop that i wanted to cover. Do I have to break it up or can I build over it? If I build over it, how do you attach it to the joists? This deck is low -maybe a foot off the ground Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
