Excess water in brine tank in GE water softner

That is usually caused by a blocked/kinked drain line, injector or an interna control valve leak allowing water flow into the brine tank when there should be no water going there. That brand has a disc and gasket that when worn is usually responsible for the leak.

When in regeneration water will be going out the drain line to waste. Water pressure lower than the brand's minimum will also cause no brine to be drawn from the salt tank.
