Hi, I am wondering if I can go over my current tiled floor with new tile? I have 1200 feet of of tile throught my kitchen, main entrance and hallways. There are several cracks through-out and the grout is very week in the hallway sections. The kitchen has Ceramic and the balance of tiles are a weeker type of tile not sure what type. The floor is about 14 years old. I dread having to removal all this tile but if deemed a must away I will go. The hallway has extreme sun baking on it most of the year. There are two 2 x 18'x 10' windows in the hall areas. Assuming that I have to remove the current floor, what is the best, fasted way to remove this and why would a floor crack and loose its grout? Looks like a good quality job, there is a ton of screws from looking up thru the basement and as far as we see it is 1/4 inch subfloor. Please help solve all the mystery. Desperatly avoiding back breaking work!
