The tools you will need are a sharp utility knife; large pliers or vice grips; paint stripper, old paint brush; wire brush; lots of paper towels, small amount of detergent, garden hose and nozzle, and finally lots of muscles.
Remove the carpeting but cutting into strips about 6 inches wide. If the carpet is difficult to start, pry up a corner and then give sharp quick pulls with a plyers or something to grip with. Once it gets started keep pulling the strips off. After all the carpet is removed wire brush off all the loose crud. Next apply stripper to an area about 18 inches square. Don't hurry the stripper, let it stand for a good 10 minutes or longer and then wire brush the stripper and the glue until it is loose from the concrete. Wipe up the area with paper towels and proceed to the next area. When all glue has been removed, thoroughly hose down the area with water. Let dry. You will have some spots of glue remaining which will be easy to see once the concrete is dry. Repeat above process. When all is removed, scrub area with some detergent and a scrub brush, and hose off. Let dry. If you wish to seal the concrete after this remember to us a commercially prepared etchant before applying sealer. Follow label directions for the sealer. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
