From the back of my TV
Model No. CF2665K
Chassis No. TAC 9000
Manufactured: November 1990
Serial No. 83416407
AC 120V 60HZ 1.8 AMPS Max
Average Power 102 Watts
The last TV guy charged me $200 for a SINGLE chip, that he said Toshiba knows goes bad because of the heat (usually cracks the chip).
Couldn't get him to give me the details on the chip. Now it is "broke" again and I only paid $400 for the TV, I'm not spending that kind of money to fix a single chip.
Found this on another web site, if someone could translate to english that would be great!
QUESTION NO. P126-6: Toshiba CF2665K - TAC 9000 TV, the picture goes black to a thin horizontal line in the middle of the screen. The sound is fine.
Most likely C301 and C305 are bad, they are usually 1uf @ 50volt. Some chassis`s are 2.2uf@ 50volt. All of these 25-27`` sets use these caps. They are usually red or brown in color ( different color from the others).
Problems in pincushion output, correction, and driver circuits. Check for overheated components and changed value resistors and electrolytics.
As for the person with the TV turning off, here is one about that (again translation to plain english would be nice!):
QUESTION NO. P1215-1: Toshiba cf2665k TV cuts off after a minute or less. The b+ is supposed to be 115v but is 117v. I did not think this to be a problem but the B+ regulator collector will increase to 70v and this is when the set cuts off. According to Sams this voltage should be 5 volts. I have also defeated the fails safe. When the set cuts off the b+ is never above 117v. The set will play forever at 95v ac in.
The problem was the yoke as it was arcing at 115v B+ yet at 90-95v would not.
When I did a search for C301 and C305 on a Consumer Electronics Parts and Accessories web page, it had a C301 for Toshiba (less than a buck!) but there were no C305 for the Toshiba model I listed, they had a C308 for my TV but no C305 was listed. Can I use a C308?
If I order these parts where the heck are they inside my TV? Can I replace these? They don't sound like a chip...
