If you can, get into the attic with a light. Try and locate yourself directly over where the leak is appearing on the inside (this doesn't always work since water seems to travel over around and through wood like nobodies business)...see if you can find any tale-tale damp spots in the roof rafters or roof decking (from a nail coming through or a decking gap).
