have you cleaned the dust, cobwebs and other debris out of the fan? cleaning may do the trick. also, check for friction in the motor bearings, with age and high amount of useage, the bearing grease can break down giving a very stiff residue that causes the motor to slow down. another possability is that a winding has gone bad in the motor.
