Thanks for the info. however, The brace i have is one that is suppose to install between 2 joists and the brace itself has foot supports that are suppose to rest on the ceiling. The problem is, one of the joists is flush with the hole so I guess what I'm looking for is a suggestion on what kind of side mount electrical box would work to support the fan.
