Put a piece of vinyl or something that will transfer heat easily and use a flat iron to put some heat on it. I haven't personally tried this but it may help. It will be a slow process. Post back if it works for you. I would try the same on top of carpet. A heat gun may do it, but from a previous post, you wouldn't want to do this with asbestos. Also probably need a respirator or mask for any fumes put off.
