You should try an ozone generator on the whole appartment. I got mine at http://www.naturalozone.com to remove the smoke in the house we bought. They have a lot of different options, but I went with the TZUV 600 and it worked fine. Just make sure to air out the area when you are done, and it's not a good idea to be inside the appartment while the machine is doing its work.
