A total BTU load calc must be performed by your heating pro to determine the size of the unit. A unit serving an entire house with a D/W; 2 or more baths and a clothes washer may require 175,000 BTU's. Compare that to a conventional HWH at around 40 to 50K BTU's. Also the gas (feed) line must be properly sized. Venting requirements are very strict. I have installed several Bosch units. The only drawback is if more then 1 fixture is in use you will notice lesser volume. IMO i would stick with the conventional. As Harold points out, the cost of the unit and installation can run you well over $1,500.00. If your still stuck on 1 check out www.protankless.com That's Boschs' official website. If the high price and uncertainty make you think twice, then go to www.bradfordwhite.com You won't find a more trouble-free HWH, then a Bradford.
