I bought my first generation Neptune washer and dryer set thinking for the price, these must be excellent and the last I would ever own. We've had the circuit board replaced twice, the door gasket replaced and have since given the washer away to a used appliance store. It takes several hours to wash a load of clothes because you have to bump the knob a notch every 10 minutes and turn on since it turns itself off. It has started leaking which was the last straw. In defense of Maytag though, their service department extended the warranty and were repairing it for free well into my second year of ownership (3 service calls) though the "fix" would only be temporary each time. I blamed the electrical system in my house for being the culprit until I found this message board. I will definitely join the law suite and have sworn off Maytag products. I will never buy a first generation anything ever again. Expensive lesson!
