While the previous poster is correct in that 5/8ths plywood can go on roofs or walls, it must be first determined IF your building code ALLOWS 5/8ths plywood to be used in your particular circustances.

For example, if you have a roof framed at 24" on center but have excessivley high wind or snow loads, 5/8ths plywood may be insufficient for use in your region.

Likewise, if you have walls framed at 24" on center but you live in extremely high wind load areas or hurricane prone regions, 5/8ths ply may not be acceptable for wall sheathing.

You need to understand your overall framing methods, code requirements, and specialized regional needs before positively ascertaining whether or not 5/8ths ply can be used at all for your structure.
