This is a couple weeks late, you probally have the pool up by now. The tubes dont have to be fastened equal, but they might as well be close. When you walk out to the perimeter stakes you have to careful not to lift the spare stake too high or the water will come out of the benchmark stake. I found this link, showing how to make one with a reservior, its probably more forging to use.
