I have noticed carpet being damp in basement bedroom next to bathroom. I finally opened bathroom wall and found a crack in the tee where the upstairs toliet empties into stack. It would be a major task to further remove wall and part of ceiling to gain enough access to replace sanitary tee. Whoever installed the drains knew about the crack since they had it wrapped with black tape. What product would you recommend to patch the crack. I want to try this first. I thought about wrapping it with a rubber boot of some type and using stainless steel clamps, or perhaps fiberglass resin with the screen around but not sure if the fiberglass will hold up to the moisture. any ideas would be appreciated...
