water in garage Posted by Darlene Pysyk on May 31st, 2004 01:24 PM
The landscape in my yard is higher than the garage. I had my yard professional landscape ywo years ago. I did all the prep work myself but hired "the right guy" to do the grading and sod. The problem never went away. He came back to fix it and now I have an 8" gully 2'from the east side of my garage and a sidewalk that goes on an angle from my deck stairs to the garage door. Not only is the gully ugly and impossible to mow, the sidewalk is hard to walk on because of the angle.
I have asked other landscapers for advice, and all I get is rip up the yard and start over. I can't afford to start over. I am a single mom working full time to try and support my family. Besides how do I know that the new landscapers know any more than the last one. Some of them have told me that the entire slope in the yard is wrong. I think most of these guys see a women, and just want to take advantage of someone that doesn't know a lot about landscaping.
A friend told me to try installing weeping tile around the perimeter. Does any one out there have any advice?
