Clay, 10 inches is way too thick for a residential driveway. Un less you are going to drive heavy equipment in it, 4 to 6 inches will be plenty.
As far as the kind of concrete, you will want to specify a minimum 5 bag mix. You can also call your local concrete supplier for their recomendations.
The volume of concrete does not vary with cement types, it is sold by the cubic yard. Multiply your drive length, width, and thickness in feet to obtain cubic feet. Then divide by 27 to get cubic yards. Example, a drive 100 feet long, 16 feet wide and 4 inches thick would be 100x16x.333=533 cubic feet. Divide by 27=19.73cubic yards.
Clay, it also take a lot of manpower to pour, level, and finish a concrete job. The example I cited above would take 4 to 6 people to do properly. Keep that in mind while planning your project.
