I need to replace the motor on my roof mounted attic fan. I am not sure of the best way to remove the motor. Should the three legged bracket stay on the motor and I remove the bracket from the fan housing? or should I drop the motor leaving the bracket in place? Does it matter? I don't want to do anything that might cause a leak.
