As far as the board lengths go, the room is 12' long and I get a nice pattern out of alternating 4' either side and 2 2' . The boards are random widths, around 6" so the whole pattern came out very nice. We laid it out on the shop floor first just to see. First time we have tried this so we want to make sure to get it right.
